Pr Pierre MAYER: The jurisdiction of the arbitral tribunal. A comparative perspective.
Pr. Mayer (Emeritus professor, University Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne) acts as arbitrator or counsel in commercial and investment treaty-based proceedings under a variety of ad hoc or institutional arbitration rules. His experience spans a variety of sectors (including energy, transport, telecommunications, projects, M&A, etc.) and all forms of contracts. He is one of the most highly regarded arbitration practitioners in France (Who’s Who Legal Arbitration in France 2018) and is routinely acclaimed as one of the best arbitrators in the world.
Dr Nathan TAMBLYN: Vocal stakeholders and historic international conventions: law reform challenges in the context of arbitration confidentiality and discrimination.
Dr. Tamblyn is Associate Professor of the Common Law at the University of Exeter Law School. Nathan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association and the London Court of International Arbitration, and a Panellist at the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration. Nathan is a lawyer in the commercial and common law team at the Law Commission of England and Wales, and is leading its project reviewing the Arbitration Act.
